Ben Atkinson - Bespoke Furniture;
price guide

If something's worth doing, then it ought to be done properly. I build my furniture to last. To be abused. To be pushed beyond its tolerances and still remain standing. High fashion's not really my thing, but that said, I agree with many modern ideas when it comes to designing furniture. It should be supremely functional and fit for purpose. Its design should be led by this purpose, and of course, using the right materials for the job is very important.

I've lived and worked in the North of England all my life, and am passionate about the place. Its attitude is uncomplicated. You get what you see and things are down to earth – this is reflected in the way I design and build my furniture: honest, unfussy, strong and functional.
